Laser Machining Center - AutoCAD File Preparation

Maximum Cutting Area

47.5 x 47.5 inch / 1206.5 x 1206.5 mm

Create continuous line work

Use POLYLINES for rectangular objects and lines.

If a continuous/closed shape is made out of more than one POLYLINE, make sure that you join all lines (pedit, enter, multiple, enter, select lines, enter, join, enter).

Avoid Overlaying Line Work

  • Keep at least 1/8 inch space in between each closed shape

Layers

  • Create a layer for the line work to be cut. Label the layer CUT
  • if applicable, create a layer for etching. Label the layer SCORE
  • if applicable, create a layer for filling. Label the layer FILL

Text

  • Only the .shx fonts can be used
  • Create a layer, label it TEXT and assign the text

Origin

  • Position the artwork so that the origin is in the lower left with at least 1/8 inch space in between

Outline of your material

Create a layer for the outline of your material. Label the layer material

Units

  • Set units to inches and save your file.

Importing Work Into Template CAD File

Right-Click and choose "save link as" to download the AutoCAD laser cut template for file submission.
