Right-Click and choose Save Link As... to download the Solidworks 2007 template for the file preparation.
Import your geometry and/or generate your geometry within this file. There are various layers within the template. The CONSTRUCTION layer is the preferred layer to perform your construction work.

If a continuous/closed shape is made out of more than one path, make sure that you join all paths with a Fit Spline operation. Select the geometry in question and then select Tools --> Spline Tools --> Fit Spline...

The spline that has been fit is then on the CONSTRUCTION layer. The fit spline then needs to be moved to the appropriate layer for the machining designation (SCORE, CUT, FILL, or TEXT).
Keep at least 1/8 inch space in between each closed shape
Currently text defaults to simplified strokes. The RPC is still working on a work flow for successful true type font driven text.
Measure your material and model the material's dimensions on the designated layer YOUR_MATERIAL_DIM. Indicate the orientation and top surface on your material in the lower left (xy coordinates).
The origin has to be set to the lower left of your artwork. This is already edited in the submission template.
The units have to be set to inches. This is already edited in the submission template.
Assign your geometry to the specific layer: (CUT, SCORE, FILL, TEXT, MATERIAL dimension)
Export the file as a .Dxf through Save As... In the DXF/DWG option window choose the Version as R13. All other options in the template file are set to their respective defaults. If they have been changed inadvertantly, the following image indicates all of the default settings.
