Co-op and Career Opportunities
Cooperative Education
Through the cooperative education system, students gain salaried practical experience to complement their expanding academic understanding of the discipline. Bachelor of Science in Architecture students integrate four quarters of work experience in their four-year curriculum in cities all over the country and overseas. Three-quarters of them are employed by architecture, interior design, and/or urban design firms, but they also work in other design-related offices, construction and development organizations, public agencies, and commercial companies.
Career Opportunities
Most Bachelor of Science in Architecture graduates continue their academic studies in a Master of Architecture program at the University of Cincinnati or elsewhere. However, the pre-professional degree, combined with co-op work experience, makes them employable in companies throughout the field of architecture. Others go on to master's programs in other design disciplines or in related fields such as engineering, construction management, real estate development, or historic preservation.
