This is the main gate into Holiday World and Splashin` Safari in Santa Claus Indiana (a three hour drive from Cincinnati). This park is family owned and operated by Will Koch, the president, and his mom, Pat Koch. Will`s late father, William (nicknamed Bill) opened Santa Claus Land on August 3, 1946. It was renamed to Holiday World in 1984 when the Halloween and Fourth of July sections were added.
A shot of the Raven`s lift hill and first drop as seen from the parking lot. The Raven was built in 1995 by Custom Coasters International, of Cincinnatil, Oh.
Here a train departs the station and heads for the lift. This year Holiday World added the building on the right to house the maintenance track for the second train which they added this year, to help shorten the lines in the summer. Although when I was there the longest wait for the Raven was 5 minutes.
Andy and I are ready to embark on a front seat ride on The Raven, which has been consistently ranked among the best wooden coasters in the world since it opened.
Holiday World`s Eagle`s Flight ride is a fun ride for people of all ages. I wish Kings Island had kept there classic Eagles instead of sending them down to Carowinds in the Carolinas. Click here for the next page of Holiday World Pictures.
