April is the wonderful time when Paramount`s Kings Island kicks off its season.
Over on the former site of the Kings Island Campground is the new Great Wolf Resort and Conference Center. Paramount Parks has a 15% stake in the $100 million plus development due to PKI contributing the land. It is scheduled to open towards the end of 2006. Also visble in this picture is the fresh coat of paint that Drop Zone is receiving. The red, green and yellow bands have already been painted but the purple and black has yet to be painted.
The new attractions in PKI in 2006 are in Nickelodeon Universe. Nick U. encompasses all of the former Hanna Barbera Land and Nickelodeon Central. One of the new rides, Danny Phantom Flyers, is seen behind the Nick Universe sign.
The main new attraction in Nick Universe is Avatar: The Last Airbender. The ride designed by Zamperla is powered along the track and the car rotates in circles as the car also traverses the track.
