I had the privilege of visiting Kings Island on September 28, 2006 as a member of the RIP, thanks to my friends at PKICentral.com (and Maureen Kaiser at Paramount`s Kings Island).
This year, the park ramped up the theming on International Street. The haunts start from the moment you enter the gates. They also added tomb stones of former rides, such as the Bavarian Beetle (left) and the Flying Eagles (center) among others.
Coney Mall is transformed into "Coney Maul" for Fear Fest. The park always changes out alot of the normal white lights to various shades of color for FearFest, like the Blue lights on this building.
The green lights on Rivertown Potato Works make it look a little creepy (or like the image was Photoshopped (which it wasn`t, I swear!)
And finally, they lit the Eiffel Tower in a ultraviolet shad of purple to complement the FearFest theme. Overall, this FearFest looks like it will be the best one of them all since they started FearFest in 2000. I hope to have more pictures from the official opening night tomorrow, so check back then! |
